Lindapter clamping systems were specified for securing the large ventilation pipes at 'Allerton Waste Recovery Park', a new waste management facility run by Amey PLC. The site will reduce the amount of waste being sent to landfill and generate enough electricity to power the equivalent of 40,000 homes.
Lindapter’s Type AAF clamps were
specified for attaching multiple support brackets to steel beams in
order to secure the large industrial pipes as they have a high tensile,
friction and combined load capacity. The specifiers were confident that
the Type AAF was the correct choice for the application due to its high
strength, reliability and longevity. Lindapter’s range of independent
technical approvals and over 80 years’ experience provided further
reassurance for the engineers.
The Girder Clamp’s lateral
adjustability allowed the contractors to quickly position the brackets
before tightening the clamps to secure the arrangement. The simple
installation using just standard hand tools, saved time and avoided
damage to the structural steel beams and the galvanized coatings. The Type AAF clamp is designed
to self-adjust to suit flange thicknesses, which added further
convenience for the installers as they could use just one type of connection
throughout the project.
The Type
AAF clamp is often used in heavy duty pipe support applications because
it is specifically designed for high load requirements, including
frictional, tensile and combined load applications. In addition, the
Type AAF can be used in cold environments where impact strength is
important because it is made from low temperature SG iron to provide
high performance in temperatures down to -76 degrees Fahrenheit.
Lindapter
also offer a free connection design service and can fabricate assemblies for the pipes' supporting steel,
saving contractors even more time and money.
