Mainzero, Frankfurt, Germany.

Sectors: Civil, Building Services, Materials Handling
Applications: Metal flooring connections, securing tracks for the BMU and suspending fire sprinkler systems

Summary:

‘Mainzero’, a new 9-story office building, located in the centre of Frankfurt’s financial district was constructed using Lindapter fixings on three separate applications.

Over 800 Type LR clamps were used to secure the flooring framework on the roof of the building. The Type LR clamp provided lateral adjustability which allowed the contractor to quickly assemble the steel sections together by sliding the beams into position before tightening the clamps with standard hand tools. By eliminating the need for drilling and welding, the contractor saved time and labour costs while avoiding hot work permits and area closures which would have caused delays to the project.

Lindapter’s Girder Clamps were also used to secure the track for the facade maintenance unit onto the roof of the building. The Girder Clamp consisted of four Type A and four Type B clamps with a location plate which quickly secured the steel sections into position to allow the maintenance unit to systematically move around. The contractor was confident that the twin steel tracks would be securely fastened to the roof with the CE marked Girder Clamp due to Lindapter having over 80 years’ experience in designing and manufacturing steelwork fixings.

Further to this, Lindapter’s versatile Type VN support fixing was used to install the fire sprinkler system throughout the building. The Type VN was quickly inserted into the re-entrant channel of the composite floor decking profile to allow the suspension of pipes underneath, saving the contractor time and labour costs.
